Anyone who knows me, knows that it is my mission to find awesome affordable makeup! I love splurging every now and then but nothing beats finding a great deal on a product that just wow’s you. That was definitely the case with these Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush pans!
In all the years that I have been experimenting with makeup, I have never really been fond of matte lipsticks. Maybe it’s because I have really dry lips to begin with and I basically cannot function without some kind of hydrating something on my lips but me and mattes just never worked it out.
So why did I buy these matte lipsticks? Well I had seen a few reviews on them and while they were mixed I thought I would try them out for myself.
A while back I did an entire post about foundation application and the tools I use, one was my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush which I love. I love all my Real Techniques brushes, they are really great quality and super affordable and you already know how I feel I about saving some dollahs! So when I saw the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge at my local drugstore on sale for $3.99 (originally $6.00) I just had to scoop it up! I mean at that price how could I not!
As a beauty blogger me and my love for makeup brushes is just as deep as my love for actual makeup. But with so many high end brushes out there I am always on the hunt for something a little more affordable because spending $50 on one brush gives me some serious buyers remorse! Ja feel?!…
So when I started venturing into the world of affordable makeup brushes such as Real Techniques, I was actually presently surprised to discover that the e.l.f. studio line of brushes had even more affordable options and were just as great as some high end brushes I’ve tried.
This past Valentine’s Day I wanted to get my hands on a lip color that would last through the night! I also wanted something that was going to be comfortable to wear, I am not a fan of matte lips and a stain just wasn’t the pigmentation I was looking for. So while I was browsing Walgreen’s I grabbed one of the last Rimmel Provocalips they had. I guess it was a popular item that day 😉 I mean it does claim to be kiss proof!
To be honest, I wasn’t really excited by the product. I had tried something similar from another brand many years ago and it was a disaster. Plus I suffer from really dry lips, like I carry 5 chapsticks with me and can’t go a day without it dry lips, so me and long wearing lip products just don’t go. But I had heard good things about these so I thought I’d give it a shot.
